The wood

Why chestnut?

Chestnut wood is a hardwood that does not require any treatment.

Chestnut is naturally protected from parasites by the biological characteristics of its tannin. This property eliminates the need for environmentally damaging chemical treatments, making it ideal for use in viticulture, agriculture, oyster farming, landscaping, fencing and animal parks.

It is also perfect for retaining dunes along the coastline and stands up very well to the wear and tear of time.

What’s more, it grows back naturally, and it takes around ten years for a new cut to form.
